If you are going to visit us, you can support the shelter in many different ways. We sell, produce and receive a big variety of products. Grocery Store “Buen Pastor”: We have a little store that supports the shelter. Sodas, cookies and all the products of everyday use are sold. We offer pillows, which were handicrafted by the migrants, hammocks, made by prisoners of the local jail, which helps them to survive. We sell delicious Fair Trade coffee produced by a cooperative, as we are located in a traditional coffee region. In the shelter´s shop you find as well the documentary “Assaulted Dream” by Uli Stelzner, which portrays the situation of migrants on the Southern Border of Mexico.
Sewing Workshop: We installed a sewing workshop in the shelter in which we give professional training to those migrants, who want to learn this profesion. We produce sheets, bedspreads and curtains: We receive orders as well, which help us to support the shelter financially, and give a little profit to the migrants, too. Donations and Gifts: The shelter receives Second-Hand clothes and shoes that are in good conditions, medicine, and any medical, First Aid and cure items. If you have old computers or sewing machines which still work well, that you do not need anymore, they are a big help to the shelter´s classes. The shelter is a big home to 30 to 50 persons. You are always welcome to bring cake, sweets, fruits, little presents, the newspaper...! Thank you very much for your kindness.
