If you are going to visit us, you can support the shelter in many different ways. We sell, produce and receive a wide variety of products.

Grocery Store “Buen Pastor”: We have a little store that supports the shelter. Sodas, cookies and all the products of everyday use are sold. We offer pillows, which are handcrafted by the migrants (5 US-Dollars), as well little bags for mobile phones or coins (2 US-Dollars).  We also sell hammocks (50 US-Dollars) made by prisoners of the local jail, the profits of which go to the prisoners to help them survive. We sell delicious Fair Trade coffee, produced right here in the Soconusco, a traditional coffee region, by the local cooperative Just Coffee (1/2 Kilo 5 US-Dollars, 1/4 2.50 US-Dollars). In the shelter´s shop you’ll also find the documentary “Assaulted Dream” by Uli Stelzner (15 US-Dollars), which portrays the situation of migrants on the Southern Border of Mexico.

Sewing Workshop: We installed a sewing workshop in the shelter in which we give professional training to those migrants who want to learn this profession. We produce sheets, bedspreads with pillows (30 US-Dollars, with designs of flowers, Cinderella or Spongebob), and curtains. We accept orders as well. The profits from the sewing workshop go to help support the shelter financially. In addition, a small percentage goes to the migrants who work in the workshop, to value their work and help them improve their situation.

Donations and Gifts: The shelter receives second-hand clothes and shoes that are in good condition, medicine, and any medical and First Aid items. If you have old computers or sewing machines that you do not need anymore, but that still are in good working condition, they would be gladly accepted for use in the shelter´s classes. The shelter is a big home to 30 to 50 persons. You are always welcome to bring cake, sweets, fruits, little presents, the newspaper...!

Thank you very much for your kindness.
